It’s fall, and Product Camp season began last month starting in Atlanta, New York and Salt Lake City. But, the real camping season picks up speed starting this weekend with upcoming events in So. California (Orange County,) San Francisco, Seattle, Rocky Mountain, Chicago, Minneapolis and welcoming Nashville. (Apologies if I forgot any.) There has been a lot of emphasis on developing your “personal” pitch. If you have looked, or even considered looking, for a new job in the last 5 years, you no doubt were encouraged by some networking group to have a pitch. Okay, so you developed a pitch. Yay. I think.
Summer is flying by. Hard to believe it is already August. School is starting back in some places around the country with others following very quickly. In the business world, we are starting to look at event and training calendars and coordinating our fall schedules. Yep, summer is closing to a quick end.
Inevitability, no matter how good a product manager you are and despite the best attention to gathering requirements and scoping out the release plans, you will run into a challenge. Most likely, whether you are in hardware, software or services, this challenge will be that your development team cannot meet the timeline (or the budget) with the list of features that need to be developed
Here in the US we are celebrating one of the most favorite national holidays this week, Thanksgiving. It is customary to offer thanks at this time. I will do so with my family and friends; but, I thought I’d offer a thanks to the PM and PMM world as well by listing what I am thankful for this season:
